I’m Magnus Jackson Diehl. I’ve been making films ever since I could hold a camera. I love character-driven films from the 1970s and early 80’s. Purchase College was very supportive of my focus on those kinds of stories. I’m influenced by the works of Terrence Malick (Badlands), the Coen Brothers (Blood Simple), and the literary work of Cormac McCarthy. I also write a fair share of science fiction stories. As a freshman at Purchase, I was fortunate enough to be able to shoot a 10 minute short using color negative 16mm film. In 2018, I completed a 2-year course of study at the William Esper Acting studio in NYC. I will continue to work on my craft and hope you enjoy my site.
